Seeking Creative Inspiration?

Lately I've been lacking artistic creativity. Usually I love to create art. I scrapbook, art journal, crochet (badly), makeover furniture, redecorate, oh you name it- I've probably tried it. But lately- nothing, nada. In fact- it's been months. Perhaps it's the weather? Can we get on with spring already? It's been so gloomy and gray. Oh yeah- I notice that I am either wearing gray or black - every day! Boringggg!

Looking on-line, seeking that creative spark, I rediscovered a blog that I used to look at every day. Have you been to A Beautiful Mess? Elsie Larson and her sister Emma create beautiful "things". You used to be able to label Elsie as a great scrapbooker but she's really branched out since then. In fact I took an on-line art journal class from her and I loved it. She's now into fashion, design, home decor and more. The woman is very creative and so cute you get a little jealous of her. How can all that be wrapped up in one woman? It's really not fair.

Anywayyyy- I just love how she takes thrift store and flea market finds and turns them into a thing of beauty. Eclectic designs and crafty ideas really set her apart from the rest. Sister Emma is very handy in the kitchen. You can gain a pound just looking at all her delicious creations. I dream of decorating my home and hosting a fancy party like they probably do. It will likely never happen. I have this weird phobia that no one will show up. A girl can dream though... can't she?

Having been away from their blog for so long is actually a great thing. Spending time looking through all the new posts has been fun. The best part about it? I actually began creating again. Well, let's be fair- I cleaned moved stuff to one big pile in my creating space so I had room to work... and I put a few pictures down on paper. I can't call what I did creating because it was so basic I bored myself. But, the act of actually touching my "things" again excited me and spurred me into list making and goal setting for some creative catching up. Maybe I'll share one of my pages with you one day when I make one I think is worth sharing.

Do you create? What do you do when you loose your creative magic? How do you get it back?
I'd love to learn more about your crafty side.
