Worst of Sandy

Photo: nowtheendbegins
As you are waking up this morning you will be glad to know Upstate New York was spared the brunt of Hurricane Sandy. New York City was not as lucky. Above is a picture of the World Trade Center site. You can se water pouring in. It looks more like a waterfall display than a memorial.

Below is a subway station. Once again- water pouring in. Officials say it could be days before mass transit is up and running and the city will be recovering from this for months and months.

Our NY1 reporters pointed out that thousands of tourists will be converging on the city for the New York City Marathon on Sunday. Marathon officials had said (as of 11 pm last night) they expected Sandy to have little affect on their plans. They say if certian areas are affected they always have a logistical backup. Big question is- will hotels, restaurants and mass transporation be as prepared as race organizers? We'll see.
