Celebrity Chef Paula Deen is scheduled to be back in the hot seat this morning. After snubbing the Today Show on Friday citing "exhaustion" Deen is once again scheduled to be interviewed by Matt Lauer this morning to answer claims that she used the "N" word.
In a recent lawsuit deposition Deen admitted to using the word at two of her restaurants a long time ago. A former worker went on to claim Deen wanted to plan a party in the theme of a Southern plantation and staff it with black waiters dressed to resemble slaves.
Today's interview comes on the heels of her sons coming out to defend her yesterday. They say she is not a racist and that saying that she is, is "character assassination".
Bobby Deen said "Our mother is one of the most compassionate, good-hearted, empathetic people that you'd ever meet," he added. "These accusations are very hurtful to her, and it's very sad."
Paula Deen's show has been dropped from the Food Network and she's lost several endorsements. Today is her chance to set the record straight on what exactly was said and to apologize for her words. Do you think she will be able to say the right words to be forgiven?
