Mother's Day Rush

I bought my mom's present more than a month ago-- but some how the Mother's Day holiday snuck up on  me. I can't believe we are just days away. That surprise sent me to the card store and post office to make sure I get my package all the way to Alaska on time.

The section where the Mother's Day cards are sold was packed. Mostly it was filled with ladies with handfuls of cards. I have to admit my heart skipped a little beat when I saw a husband/son picking out some card. Was it because he wasn't waiting until the last minute? Was it the fact that he was spending a lot of time to pick out just the right card? Oh I don't know what it was but I wanted to give him a hug and say "You're so sweet!". He probably would have looked at me and said "Get away you crazy lady".

Anyway- after my adventures in the card store I headed over to the post office. Apparently I wasn't the only one sending a package to mom. It was packed. Just about every person could be heard in the line talking about needing to make sure it gets there on time.

I was told my package should arrive on Friday... Saturday at the latest. That makes me happy. I hope my mom likes what I got her.
