Reality Of The Job

It is not often that video cameras are rolling when you see a hero in action... when they are they make the news. This was the case in Utica when Firefighters arrived on the scene to an apartment fire on West Adrean Terrace. We can credit V-STA Productions to this raw video showing just how brave first responders are.

Watch as they attack a fire and know that precious time is ticking by because there were reports that people were trapped inside. What complicated the attack was the confusing layout of the apartment that had been converted from two to 4 bedroom apartments.

The firefighter emerges at about 8:20 with the child in hand and runs toward a waiting ambulance. At last report the 4-year-old child is in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital in critical condition, suffering from severe smoke inhalation. No word on her condition yet this morning.

My heart beats rapidly seeing this video. I hope the firefighter is ok knowing he did all he could to get her out. I hope the little girl survives. WOW.
