Space Dive

As a News Anchor of a 24 hour news station I work to provide you a lot of content in a concise manner. So, when it came to telling you about the space jump of Felix Baumgartner- I gave you the basics.  On October 14th he broke the record for speed of sound in a free fall.

I was flipping through the channels last night and came across a documentary about his fall and I was fascinated! While the world watched his fall and saw the happy ending- they didn't know that at one point the feed to the world was cut off because he experienced a life threatening problem with his mask fogging up- and they discussed the possibility of aborting. It also showed him going through mental therapy because he was facing his fears and mental roadblocks. I could not stop watching and neither could my 5-year-old.

We watched the whole process from him going up to him stepping off the ledge of that capsule at 128,079 feet high (the highest ever)  and free falling for a terrifying 4 minutes and 19 seconds. He began to spin out of control at 834 miles per hour- the fastest ever. The documentary is definitely worth checking out- in fact I look forward to seeing it in its entirety. This man truly made history in a way only most people can imagine.
