George McGovern Dies

 Democratic Party nominee for president in 1972 and long time liberal Senator George Stanley McGovern died today (Sunday) at the age of 90.  He passed away peacefully at a hospice house in South Dakota. In 1972 McGovern lost the presidency by a landslide to Richard Nixon with 17 electoral votes to Nixon's 520. Funeral services have not been scheduled yet. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Feeding South Dakota.
