Bi-Partisan Big Bird

Photo: CBS

Apparently Big Bird doesn't like to pick sides- even if funding for his popular show would be cut if one presidential candidate were elected. Republican Nominee for President Mitt Romney said he would cut funding to PBS if he were elected president in the debate last Wednesday. So, President Obama's camp fought back with a political ad- starring Big Bird. I searched for Obama's official YouTube page for the clip- but PBS has asked Obama to stop running it and stop using Big bird- and I couldn't find it there- but I found it HERE. No matter where you fall along party lines- don't you think it's a little strange to see Big Bird in this light? Yah got to admire the big yellow bird for not taking any sides- even when the stakes for him are so high!

It was refreshing to see actually. Since it is funded by the govt I don't believe the makers of SS are allowed to endorse a particular candidate. I agree that in light of "what is at stake" that he is trying to get the ad pulled. However - in the world we live in the "damage" to his image is already done as one cannot get these things off the internet.

Enjoy reading your blog!

agree- its out there and the damage is done- sad- cuz I love the bird even more now because he doesn't want to be used in that way!

Thank you so much JC- hope you keep on coming back!jk
