I was struck by the title: "What Does It Take to Be a Sports Illustrated Cover Girl? Here’s How Kate Upton
Did It". Apparently we have a shot-- if you believe what SI Swimsuit issue editor MJ Day.
Day told OMG from Yahoo:
“Obviously, the cover is very special, and how we look at it now is it’s more
than a photograph, it’s a story,” Day revealed. "That photograph encompasses
everything you want, it’s a story. It’s a perfect picture with perfect light, a
perfect smile, a perfect face and incredible backdrop. There is so much more to
it than a pretty girl on a beach. It’s more than a picture."
Reallllllyyyyyyy??? Ha ha. Ok- so she's not on a beach, I'll give them that... but really- is anyone looking at the background?
After I read that quote- I admit, the rest of the article kinda sounded like the teacher on the Peanuts movies. I just kept giggling. No, I'm not hating on the SI models. I actually love looking at it. If you'd like to read more- please click
