Did you know there was a best time to wash your dishes? I didn't and found these facts very interesting! If you're like me and always looking for ways to save money- this will get you a little excited.
*Tip #1: Run your dishwasher between 7 p.m. and noon the next day. Apparently charge more for peak hours, with the most use at 2 p.m. in the afternoon.
*Tip #2: Lower the heat. Experts say 80% of the energy used by dishwashers goes into heating the water.
*Tip #3: Time for an upgrade? Experts also say A if you have an old dishwasher (pre-1994) it might be time to replace it with an Energy Star appliance. It will save about 10 gallons of water per cycle and about $40 a year in energy costs.
