Election Day In Pictures

The YNN Albany Newsroom was still busy at 1AM when I arrived to start anchoring the election night results for the morning show. So before I got on set I thought I'd roam around the newsroom and take a few behind the scenes pictures of the action!

President Obama finally took to the stage sometime in the 1AM hour. By this time all the local races were called and speeches were done- so most of the crew (on air and behind the scenes) could sit back and watch the President's speech as they would be going home right after he got off the stage.

Ahhh- but there's still work to do! This is the "Producer Pod". The show Producers were already preparing our post election shows and writing scripts for me and my co-anchor to get on the morning news.

Control Room Producers are a must! They help make sure all the scripts are proof read and have all the correct visual elements in them before the Anchor reads them.

Anytime there's extensive coverage- pizza and drinks are a MUST! A way to a news person's heart is through their stomach.

Obama is done speaking and now it's my turn to get on set and start anchoring all the wrap up pieces. Surprisingly- I'm VERY awake- having had the alarm go off at midnight! I can't believe I am not hurting at all! That would change at about 1pm- I crashed!

And we're on air! Here I am with Weekend Anchor Solomon Syed anchoring the overnight results from all the races! Do NOT adjust your set! In the first time in my 9 year history here at YNN they had to put me on the wrong side because Solomon began working on stories before me and they put him on my side. I'm not sure if he sits on the same side on the weekend or moves around- but I can tell you this- it was down right STRANGE not sitting in my regular spot! Solomon kept laughing at me because I was like "OH this is weiiirrrrd" as if I were on another planet or something! LOL It was just a different side JoDee! haha
