LSU Photo Controversy

LSU is coming under fire for reproducing a photo for a campus-wide email. Does it look controversial? Not at first glance and not until you realize what was done- and there in lies the issue. Take a look at both pictures- what's missing. The above is the reproduction. Below- the original.

In reproducing LSU airbrushed out the crosses on the students' chests. See, The Painted Posse is a group of Christian-centered Tiger fans. It appears everyone on campus knows this.

In a world were football is religion- some are surprised at the move. Well, namely members of the group and religious freedom supporters.

The University didn't really apologize. Instead it would next time choose a different picture."Those crosses were airbrushed out. ... We don't want to convey any religious or political message," said Associate Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Senior Associate Athletics Director Herb Vincent.
