Every year I'm reminded by an article either in the paper or on the interent about unclaimed funds. I get excited because one time I had $32 in the state of Florida to claim. It was like free money- even though it was mine in the first place. I always have a dream that I'm going to hit it big with some type of claim. It will probably never happen- but a girl can dream, right?
States hold the unclaimed funds in a state bank account and wait for you to come get your money. Money can be from an old pension fund, insurance or even something as simple as a balance from an old power bill if you moved from one place to another.
I highly suggest you search each state you've lived in. You might be suprised.
